Vision Benefit Options

UnitedHealthcare, using the national Spectera Vision network, providing access to over 22,000 vision providers nationwide.

Employees may choose between a Low and High plan.  Both plans include benefits for annual eye exams, lenses, frames and contact lenses in lieu of lenses and frames.  On the Low plan, most services are subject to a copay, while copays are not required on the High plan.  In addition, the High plan allows one to get new frames every year, while the Low plan allows for new frames once every 24 months.

Importance of choosing an in-network provider

Vision benefits for out-of-network providers are substantially lower than in-network benefits.  For this reason, covered members are strongly encouraged to use a provider who participates in the national Spectera network.  To search for participating providers near you, please visit https://www.myuhcvision.com/MWP/Landing and select “UnitedHealthcare Vision Plan” from the dropdown menu on teh right side of the page.
